Shri ShantiMayi – What the Guru Represents

Shri ShantiMayi answers a satsang question asking why she still needs a Master. This leads her to speak about both the physical and the inner Guru.

My Master was the light and the wisdom that sent me in the right direction. I cannot imagine a life without Him and I can’t even dream of discarding my true wealth and the vessel of my deapest love.

I have given Him my life and for that He has asked me to give my life to you. He has asked me to serve you. How wonderful! I am thankful all my days to Him.

Even so… the way we discover Truth is unique for each of us, and expressions are infinite in number. He has shown me this and more… much, much more.

Shri ShantiMay Master of Sacha lineage

No, you don’t have to have a Guru. However if someone presented you with a precious and highly valuable diamond, I’m sure you’d cherish it… wouldn’t you?

The Guru represents the Ultimate One that we ourselves are. Whoever or whatever your Guru may be – whether a mountain, nature, a brilliant Elder, a Wise one, a great Mahatma, or an Enlightening Being – all benefit you and represent the Ultimate One awakening in you. Whoever or whatever appears in your life… guiding you to your Self Nature, the Essence that you are, continue to open to that One more and more and more. Until the One falls into the One, rises in the One, loving the One and only One in everyone.

Awakening to the One is the whole point of the Guru and disciple relationship. And in my view, every Guru is a disciple and every disciple is the Guru. These roles never cease to exist for those whose thirst is quenched by the sweet ambrosia of Truth.

If you want to discover the Truth and live it, then look inside your heart, the sanctuary of the Divine. Your whole life is a walk on the pathway with your Master. God, the One within all, is rushing towards you all the time, encouraging you to come home…

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to make an offering to your heart. I am grateful to be in your presence. I am grateful that my Master opened my heart wide enough that I might help you open yours. I am grateful that he has made an offering of my life to you. It is an honour to speak with you…

Namaste.
